WordPress SEO Sydney
Speed, structure and schema fixed at the source
An SEO plugin is a starting point, not a strategy. We work on every layer of your WordPress site: hosting, database, theme templates, plugins, structured data and content. We’ve worked on WordPress since 2006, at developer level, with no lock-in contracts.

Where WordPress sites lose rankings
The flexibility that makes WordPress powerful also creates its biggest search problems. A caching plugin fixes only a fraction of them.
Plugin overload
Plugins that duplicate each other add script conflicts and database queries to every page request. The site gets slow and brittle, and any single update can break something.
A theme built for every use case
Multipurpose themes load CSS and JavaScript for sliders, portfolio grids and animations whether you use them or not. Images go out at full size, without WebP or AVIF and without set dimensions.
Defaults that create duplicates
Trailing slashes, www variants and category, tag and date archives all create crawlable copies of the same content. SEO plugin defaults often index author archives and point canonicals at the wrong URLs.

An SEO plugin vs WordPress SEO done properly
SEO plugins handle surface-level on-page elements well. They can’t reach the theme, database or server, where the biggest gains are.
| Topic | Plugin settings only | Working with us |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | Plugin settings only:A caching plugin on top | Working with us:Server, theme, images and database fixed underneath |
| Plugins | Plugin settings only:One more for each problem | Working with us:Overlaps removed, heavy ones replaced with lean code |
| Schema | Plugin settings only:Plugin-generated defaults | Working with us:Custom FAQ, HowTo, LocalBusiness and Article markup |
| Hosting | Plugin settings only:Not reviewed | Working with us:Hosting, CDN and server-level settings assessed |
What our WordPress SEO covers
Developer-level work: we edit theme template files, write custom PHP functions and fix performance in the code, not just in plugin settings.
Speed and clean-up
- A WordPress technical audit: theme efficiency, plugin conflicts, database health, security and a Core Web Vitals baseline
- Plugin audit and clean-up: overlaps consolidated and heavy plugins replaced with lean alternatives or custom functions, with every feature kept
- Core Web Vitals fixed at the source: render-blocking resources, image delivery, layout shifts and server response
- Unused theme assets stripped out, so pages stop downloading code they never use
- Database tuning: query optimisation, table maintenance and transient clean-up
Security, schema and content
- Security hardening: malware prevention, login protection, file permissions and HTTP security headers
- Hand-coded schema beyond plugin defaults: LocalBusiness, FAQ, HowTo, Article, Service and custom types
- Canonical tags, redirects, XML sitemaps and archive settings corrected, so Google indexes one version of each page
- Content strategy: categories and tags structured as topic cluster hubs, with internal link mapping and keyword-aligned roadmaps
Lock-in contracts
Retention is earned through results, not contracts. Every month you get transparent reporting tied to your commercial objectives.
Hosting advice included
We assess and recommend hosting environments, CDN configurations and server-level performance settings, not just what sits inside WordPress.

Is Yoast enough for WordPress SEO?
SEO plugins handle surface-level on-page elements well, but they work above the layer where the biggest gains are. They can’t fix theme performance, resolve plugin conflicts, optimise database queries, add custom structured data or plan your content. They’re one tool in a larger toolkit. See our guide to the best WordPress SEO plugin.
How do you improve WordPress page speed?
We look at every layer of the stack: server configuration, caching, image delivery, asset bundling, database queries and theme template output. The biggest speed gains come from fixing the architecture, not from installing another plugin.
Which WordPress hosting do you recommend for SEO?
Hosting directly affects your Core Web Vitals and crawl performance. We generally recommend Australian-hosted managed WordPress with server-level caching, PHP 8.x, HTTP/2 or HTTP/3 and SSD storage as a minimum. We look at your traffic, audience and budget before recommending one, and set up a CDN when your audience extends beyond Sydney. More in our hosting and Core Web Vitals guide.
Do page builders like Elementor hurt WordPress SEO?
They can. Page builders add DOM complexity and often load large CSS and JavaScript libraries on every page, used or not, which can hurt Core Web Vitals. A well-configured builder on quality hosting can still perform adequately. We audit your setup, remove unused widgets, optimise asset loading and sometimes recommend moving key landing pages to cleaner theme templates.
How do you handle WordPress multisite SEO?
Multisite needs careful domain mapping, an XML sitemap for each subsite, separate Search Console verification for each property and a coordinated content plan that avoids duplicates across the network. We set each subsite up to perform on its own, while drawing on the network’s shared domain authority where it helps.
How long does WordPress SEO take to show results?
Technical performance improvements often show within 2–4 weeks. Content-driven ranking improvements typically take 3–6 months, depending on competition and your existing domain authority.
Can you optimise WordPress for Google AI Overviews?
Yes. AI Overviews draw on well-structured, authoritative content. We add comprehensive schema markup, structure your content with clear headings and concise answer paragraphs, and build topical authority through content clusters, so your site offers the kind of clear, well-organised information AI systems prefer to cite.
