Discovering Hidden Rank Keywords

The majority of campaigns that involve content, that we’ve done at SEO Sydney, begin with strong keyword research. Unfortunately, the majority of marketers are lacking proper keyword research procedures. While the majority of the consumers search for keywords that have high search volumes, these keywords can be highly competitive and difficult to rank for. Marketers need to be more thorough with their keyword research and choose keywords that have high search volumes but the low competition to start growing their organic traffic. The practice of using low competition keywords in an SEO campaign can drastically improve results. These low competition keywords or hidden rank keywords are essentially keywords that are already ranking your website in the top 50 SERP’S. These keywords were not promoted by your marketers, initially due to a lack of thorough research but could potentially bring a lot of organic traffic to your website.

Why Do Hidden Ranks Happen?

As you run an organic SEO campaign to promote your targeted keywords, other associated keywords are influenced as a result. These associated keywords also rank upwards in the search engine ranking algorithm stream and reach the top 100 or even top 50 shores. This phenomenon can be advantageous if cultivated properly.

Take advantage of long-tail keywords

These hidden rank keywords can be advantageous because these hidden rank keywords are so specific. These hidden rank keywords often take the form of long-tail keywords. Long-tail keywords are keywords or key phrases that are more specific – and usually longer – than more commonly searched for keywords. These keywords receive less search traffic, but will usually have a higher conversion value because they are more defined. A major benefit for focusing on long-tail keywords is that, although these keywords are used less in search, the visitor that finds your website using them are more likely to buy your service or product because the long tail keyword has catered to their specific needs. The more specific you get with a search phrase, the less volume there is likely to be and it presents a better opportunity for a customer to buy.

Finding Long-Tailed Keywords:

  • Log in into to Google Adwords Keywords Planner and input your main keyword.
  • Click the ‘keywords” tab to generate all the keywords in each group.
  • Then collect your long-tail keywords from the results list.
